Hygisoft is a long lasting highly effective biocide of wide spectrum; it has low toxicity and is solvent free. Because its polymeric nature Hygisoft forms a thin film on the applied surfaces.

Safe in handling and application. Hygisoft is a very efficient, multipurpose disinfectant with very fast action, even at low concentrations. It is practically neutral. It is free of alcohol, heavy metal and phenol compounds as well as any other toxic, harmful of irritant compounds. It is possible to use Hygisoft also where storing and using alcohol based products can be risky. It is completely safe to transport and store Hygisoft. Hygisoft is colourless and odourless and entirely soluble in water.

Active substance: PHMG. The outstanding biocide properties of Hygisoft are based on the excellent biocide performance of its active substance, Poly Hexamethylene Guanidine Hydrochloride (PHMG). PHMG is sequentially charged with positive moieties that are able to decompensate the negative charges present in the cell walls of micro-organisms. This action destabilizes the osmotic equilibrium and kills germs quickly.

PHMG has been widely studied and it has proved to have a very wide range of biocide activity. It is effective against all bacteria (also with spores), viruses, fungi, moulds and algi.
